JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                                 Marketing Director

REPORTS TO:                  Gaming Manager and/or General Manager

 

SUMMARY:  Plans and directs all marketing activities, including creative development, production and distribution of all marketing materials and oversees all promotions.  Oversees the Grand River Casino (GRC) Gold Club.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and distributes the annual marketing plan to the appropriate GRC personnel.  Maintains direct communication with advertising agency(ies) and other vendors to ensure timely and appropriate creation and placement of advertisements and the development and production of marketing materials.  Coordinates the involvement of the management team and other staff members in the planning and approval of marketing strategies, events and promotions.  Prepares the budget for the implementation of the marketing plan and completes a cost/benefit analyses for each event and/or promotion.  Evaluates the effectiveness of all marketing activities, events and promotions.  Coordinates photo and film shoots, as necessary.  Maintains current information regarding demographics and other market factors to maximize the effectiveness of marketing activities.  Assists the General Manager in the management of public relations activities and coordinates the development of positive publicity for GRC.  Maintains complete and accurate records of all marketing activities.  Maintains strict confidentiality of all GRC matters.  Responsible for the selection and supervision of all departmental staff.  Responsible for training of all Gold Club staff, including but not limited to customer service, player tracking system and player database.  Will comply with all BSA/AML regulations, reporting & training required by the GRC’s Written System of Internal Controls.  All other duties as assigned by the Gaming Manager and/or General Manager.

 

PREREQUISITES

General:  Must be age 21 or older.  Must qualify for a “Key” Standing Rock Tribal gaming license.

Education:   Baccalaureate degree in marketing or communication or other applicable curriculum.  Applicable experience in addition to that stated below may be considered in lieu of education.  Must be able to communicate effectively in the primary language used in the workplace.

Experience:  Four or more years of marketing experience in the gaming or hospitality industry required.  Experience in the utilization of casino player tracking system data, preferred.

Skills and Abilities:  Must be able to operate a personal computer effectively utilizing software for word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), publishing (MS Publisher) and personal work organization and communication (MS Outlook).  Must possess strong skills in initiating and maintaining effective business relationships.  Possess the ability to organize and prioritize personal work activities and coordinates the efforts of staff in other departments.  Must possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills.

Physical: Requires normal (or corrected to) visual acuity and hearing, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, reaching and tolerance for long periods of sitting.
